As I typed this the moving company my company hired is packing my house. I'm moving out of Florida. For the first time in my life. This also means I get to take my mustang GT on a road trip for the first time. It usually is just an in the city car. My wife's odyssey is what we always travel in.
I've included a pic of the grill I got as an early Father's Day present.

Where are you relocating?

Moving to Kennesaw Georgia. My job will be in Atlanta.

You are about to experience some of the worst traffic in the country. Avoid the 285 if possible!

I'm not sure I could pay someone to pack my stuff. I'm getting twitchy just thinking about it.

For once the car isn't the main take away in an oppo post, getting out of florida (alive) is the real key

WHAT IF THEY FIND THE GOAT PORN I LOST??

I know lots of people that live in Atlanta, and not a single one of them have ever taken their subway. There is a reason for that.

That's where Jesse James Dupree lives!

Welcome to ATL! If you live in Kennesaw and work a 9-5 in the city, your commute will not be great. At least it looks like you have a great commuting car for when the roads open up!

THE STRUGGLE IS REAL!

thanks. I don't work a normal shift. I will be working 12:45-9:15 most of the time. So my commute will be around noon. I do have to teach some, so those days I'll get to the office around 7:00am. I'm hoping that helps with the commute.

yeah, I know about the traffic. I do have to take 285 for a few minutes on my commute, but it will typically be at non-traditional times.

ha! I'm ready to try something new. I live in Jacksonville now, so it's more like southern georgia than North Florida

Thank the traffic gods for that. Also, unless things have changed in the past few years since I was there last, don't get lost in any area around Turner field. It's pretty ghetto over there.

Well, I agree. Normally I do it all myself. This time the company is paying for the whole move, so I'm not arguing.

That will make things much more tolerable, especially considering all of the upcoming construction for the new Cobb Braves stadium.
Watch out for cops on the freeway (quite common), but once you get into the city, there are not nearly as many speed traps (cops have more important things to do).
I love Atlanta. It is tone of the only places where you can afford to live nicely and have a family all close to work in a major city. Enjoy!

It is hard to argue with free and packing is a huge pain in the ass.

I really will only be on the highways. My office is right off the exit at 285 and 400, and my house is pretty close to 575. I'll definitely take it easy on the highways. I Don't need any speeding tickets.

Very hard to argue with free packing. They will be done packing my stuff today. They will load it tomorrow. The best part is my back will be spared. I was down for a week last time I finished moving, and I wasn't even 30 yet.

either way you get to escape the looney bin known as Florida.

I shouldn't be anywhere near there on a daily basis. My work is right at the northern perimeter mall area.
I'm glad I work the late shift. It makes traffic way more tolerable.
